Dave Hickey is the author of two full-length poetry collections, In the Lights of a Midnight Plow and Open Air Bindery, both from Biblioasis, and two chapbooks: Snowflake Photography (Little Fishcart Press) and Safe Vehicles for a Dying Planet (Baseline Press).
His writing has been shortlisted for three national awards: the RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers (2004), the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award for best first book of poetry published in Canada (2007), and the bpNichol Chapbook Award, which annually recognizes excellence in English Canadian poetry published in ephemeral form (2022).
An Associate Professor in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prince Edward Island, he lives with his family on the south shore of Epekwitk, not far from Oqo’sikiji’j.
